Autumn Couple Photoshoot in Lauterbrunnen

Late autumn in Lauterbrunnen is one of my favorite seasons for couple photos because the valley feels calmer, the colors turn warm and earthy, and the cliffs look extra dramatic in soft morning light. This gallery features Jan and J’s honeymoon session, photographed on a crisp autumn morning.

It was cold when we started, but that’s exactly why I lean into movement. Walking, spinning, a quick run down the path, a tight hug, warming up hands in pockets. It helps you forget about the camera and it honestly makes the photos feel more alive (and yes, it keeps you warmer too). We arrived very early, and that made a huge difference. For most of the session, we had the trail almost to ourselves, which is rare in Lauterbrunnen and, in my opinion, almost the only reliable way to avoid crowds here.

During the day, especially in summer, this narrow path can turn into a constant flow of people stopping for photos. It’s beautiful, but it doesn’t feel intimate when you’re trying to have a quiet moment together. Starting early gave us that peaceful, private feel, plus cleaner backgrounds and more time to slow down and enjoy the experience instead of rushing between people.
